Modesto Arch Restoration Project

Restore The Arch!

The Modesto Arch Restoration Project
Preserving History 1912-2012

The best way to honor our past is to preserve it for the future...

There is nothing more iconic of Modesto than the arch that welcomes travelers to the heart of Downtown Modesto while declaring Modesto’s heritage of “Water Wealth Contentment Health.” Built in 1912, the Arch was constructed by the Modesto Booster Club, founders of the Chamber of Commerce. One hundred years later, Modesto’s esteemed landmark is being restored to its original glory.

Community volunteers have developed plans to update the lighting, patch the concrete, restore the original color scheme, replace the flag poles, and reinforce the structure so the Arch will stand as a Modesto icon for another century.

The Arch Restoration Project isn’t simply about protecting a landmark; it’s that the future of Modesto will be defined by the ways we choose to respect our traditions. This community-driven endeavor will preserve Modesto’s heritage for generations to come.

The Modesto Chamber of Commerce and the City of Modesto are spearheading a campaign to raise the funds necessary to preserve this piece of Modesto’s history.
