City Celebrates Women's History Month through "Women's Art: Women's Vision"

The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department's King-Kennedy Memorial Center invites the community to celebrate Women's History Month at the 6th Annual Celebration of Women event honoring the originality, beauty, imagination and multiple dimensions of women's lives through this year's theme, "Women's Art: Women's Vision."

Throughout the month workshops have been presented to to commemorate National Women's History Month and provide women of all ages an opportunity to discover, celebrate and expand their perceptions of themselves and of each other.

The final workshop of the series, "The Art of Aging with Grace," will be held this Saturday, March 22, from 3-5 p.m., with facilitator Mrs. Ruby Kennedy.  Mrs. Kennedy is a community leader, youth advocate, and the current president of the Women's Auxiliary.

The month-long journey of self-discovery will culminate with a special program and event on Saturday, March 29, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The workshop and community celebration will be held at King-Kennedy Memorial Center, 601 S. Martin Luther King Drive. The special event will feature information booths, demonstrations, an awards celebration, children's activities and prize drawings. Lunch will be provided.
