Volunteers Needed for Neighborhood Clean-Up Project

City Gears Up for Earth Day Celebration

To prepare for the upcoming Earth Day celebration, the City of Modesto is seeking volunteers for a "Neighborhood Clean-Up" along the undeveloped portions of the Virginia Corridor on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 8:30 a.m.   

The Virginia Corridor is a 4.2-mile linear park that runs along the old Tidewater Southern Railroad Line from Needham Avenue to Bangs Avenue. 

Any person or organization interested in volunteering should contact Beverly McCullough, City of Modesto Solid Waste Division, at (209) 577-5495.

Modesto's 19th Annual Earth Day in the Park Festival is slated for Saturday, April 19, at Graceada Park.
