Coming into one’s own as an individual is a normal right of passage. For Marie-Christi, this took a little something extra. As a twin, she worked to set herself apart by developing a life rich in volunteerism, letting her thoughtful character shine through.
Marie-Christi started early by helping out her teachers and volunteering at the snack bar during school events. Moving into high school, she has served as President of her school’s Key Club since her freshman year and is credited with keeping the club going. During her years with Key Club, Marie-Christi has also worked with various non-profit organizations, including the Salvation Army, Unicef, and the Tzu-Chi Foundation.
With the objective of becoming a Registered Nurse, Christi has already set to work preparing for the career by becoming a Certified Medical Technician and working in a residential care facility for the elderly. Not the least of Marie-Christi’s achievements is that 2012 marked the year she became a US citizen. Not only are we proud to call her a fellow American, but we are honored to welcome her as one of this year’s Mayor’s Top Teens.
