School: Central Catholic
Blaine Bockhahn broke his leg this year which severely limited his movement. But instead of letting that slow him down, Blaine worked even harder. A junior at Central Catholic High, Blaine is an honor student, a member of the Key Club, Interact, and the Chair of the Shadow Program. This summer Blaine was also chosen as an intern for a Superior Court Judge in Stockton. But that is just the beginning of what Blaine has been able to accomplish.
Last year Blaine was also the winner of the CCHS WE award, which is the most coveted award at Central Catholic and almost never given to a sophomore. But his teachers unanimously agreed that Blaine was the most deserving student who consistently places "WE before ME". That’s easy to see once you know Blaine’s record of community service. Blaine is a volunteer for the Ripon Rec Soccer League, the Boys and Girls Club, the CYO sports organization, and St. Anthony’s Church.
Blaine is one of those rare teens whose accomplishments are only exceeded by his unselfishness. Blaine’s nominating teacher says that "he is always the first to go that extra mile to help anyone." Even though going that extra mile might seem harder for someone who just broke his leg, not so for Blaine. You might be able to break his leg, but never his spirit.
