Electricity Comparison Specifications

  • Effective rate ranges are based on average winter and summer energy rates.

  • Usage demand factors:
    Commercial (Demand 20 kW, Energy 6,000 kWh);
    Small (Demand 150 kW, Energy 60,000 kWh);
    Medium (Demand 700 kW, Energy 400,000 kWh); Large/Industrial (Demand 2,200 kW, Energy 1,287,000 kWh).

  • Modesto rates are based on Modesto Irrigation District's GS-1, GS-2, and GS-3 schedules (1/1/05).

  • Sacramento rates are based on Sacramento Municipal Utility District's GS, TOU3, TOU2, and TOU1 schedules (3/1/05).

  • Fresno, San Jose, and Stockton rates are based on Pacific Gas & Electric's A1, A10, E19 and E20 schedules (5/3/04).

Commercial Sewer Specifications

  • Commercial 1: Warehouse, retail, office, car wash, hospital,
    laundromat, church, private school

  • Commercial 2: Hotel w/o dining facilities, commercial laundry, repair shop or service station

  • Commercial 3: Hotel w/dining facilities, industrial laundry, shopping center with dining

  • Commercial 4: Auto steam cleaning, bakery, market with garbage disposal, mortuary, restaurant

* Total monthly cost. Sacramento sewer charges are based on building sf and commercial use; 5,000 sf buildings were used.

Industrial Sewer Specifications:

  • Fresno has two (2) industrial flow rates based on volume.

  • San Jose rates based on their Capital & O&M Cost Recovery Charges.

  • Modesto:  Electricity is provided by Modesto Irrigation District based on average commercial/industrial 2004 MID rates.

  • Fresno: Electricity is provided by PG&E, rates are based on Industrial Rate Average.

  • Sacramento: Electricity is provided by SMUD and based on ON-Peak Medium Commercial Rates.

  • San Jose: Electricity is provided by PG&E, rates are based on Industrial Rate Average.

  • Stockton: Electricity is provided by MUD, rates based on A-10 Summer Electricity.
