The Modesto Brewery, 708-710 10th Street, Circa 1885 Michael Braun, proprietor of the Modesto Brewery, started as a brewer in Tuolumne City. By 1875 he had relocated to Modesto. It was a most successful business since there were 10 saloons as well as other restaurants and hotels in Modesto in 1883. Modesto's population at that time was 2,500. |
