The Modesto Police Department Explorers

Some of the duties currently being performed by explorers include:


*  assisting citizens with questions
*  patrolling with police officers
*  performing clerical assignments
*  assisting at special and community events
*  staffing information booths
*  distributing important flyers
*  answering telephones


Requirements and abilities:

*  over 15.5 years of age
*  a citizen of the United States or have legal residency
*  mature
*  responsible
*  enthusiastic
*  good communication skills
*  willingness to submit to an extensive background check
*  ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
*  ability to maintain strict confidentiality
*  willingness to comply with uniform dress code
*  dependable and flexible
*  willingness to share in community
*  sense of humor
*  desire to serve others
