Lifeguard and Title 22 Certification


City of Modesto, Parks and Recreation department will be offering two courses to prepare you for working in aquatics. The first will be Lifeguard Certification that will prepare you to be a Lifeguard at any pool. The second will be the Title 22 certification. YOU MUST BE CERTIFIED IN BOTH LIFEGUARDING AND TITLE 22 IN ORDER TO WORK AS A LIFEGUARD IN CALIFORNIA!

 

Lifeguard Certification - $225

  • May 11, 12, 18 & 19 (Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 am -4:00 pm)
  • Will be held at Johansen High School Pool (641 Norseman Ave)
  • Course #52652

Successful Completion will certify participants in:

  • Lifeguard training for 2 years
  • First aid for 2 years
  • CPR/AED for 2 years

Lifeguard Pretest Requirement:

  • 300 yard swim
  • Tread water for 2 minutes
  • Retrieve object in 7-10 ft of water
  • REGISTRATION FEE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF PRETEST IS FAILED

 

Title 22 Certification - $75

  • June 8 & 9 (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm)
  • At Neighborhood Central at Marshal Park (420 Chicago Ave)
  • Course #52702

Successful Completion will certify participants in:

  • First aid requirements of Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations
  • Valid for 3 years
