Looking for something free to do with your family on a Saturday?Here is something that is free and fun and focuses on health and safety!Come join the fun at the 2013 Family Cycling Festival & Modesto Harvest Moon Criterium.Thefestivalreturns for the 18th year to downtown Modesto on Saturday, May 18, 2013.Plan to bring the family for a full day of cycling fun in front of the Stanislaus County Courthouse and along I Street between 10th & 12th Streets.The Festival hours are from to and the Downtown Criterium runs from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Festival includes all-day free cycling entertainment for the whole family.The Perfection on Wheels Bicycle Stunt Team from Southern California will top the entertainment list.This team performs throughout the United States and is famous for their extreme, spectacular, non-stop, action-packed bicycle stunt shows!Come watch the performances at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.All children are encouraged to bring their bikes.Bicyclists can license their bikes for free, participate in bike races, and ride on an obstacle course.Big trucks and heavy equipment, along with giveaways, will be featured by the City of Modesto Public Works Department.Other free children’s activities will include a rock climbing wall, bounce houses, face painting, and much, much more. Free helmets will be fitted and given to children.Anyone up to age 18 can enter a drawing to win a free bicycle.
The Modesto Harvest Moon Criterium, promoted by Ciccarelli Enterprises, features fast-paced racing throughout downtown Modesto. The Criterium races begin and end on the corner of 13th Street and I Street.Pro races run at various times throughout the day. Beginner/children’s races run from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.Registration closes 20 minutes prior to scheduled start of each race.Parent or guardian must be present for child to participate in races and helmets are required.
