The McHenry Museum will host a docent training class on Monday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at the McHenry Museum, 1402 I Street.  Participants will be given materials explaining what the Museum has to offer and will learn opening and closing procedures, what to do in an emergency, how to operate the elevator and other tasks. 

McHenry Museum docents greet visitors as they enter the Museum, ask them to sign in and answer questions about the museum, exhibits and artifacts.  No special knowledge is required – just a love of history and a desire to serve the community.  Docents are asked to volunteer for four hours, from noon to 4 p.m., a minimum of one day per month and one weekend day per year.
