City of Modesto, California News Release

Compost made at the City of Modesto’s Compost Facility is now available for purchase in 1.5 cubic foot bags.  The City will sell the new bags of Mo-gro Pro and Mo-gro Magic compost at the Senior Citizens Center, 211 Bodem Street, Monday through Friday, October 26 through November 30, from 8:30 a.m.-noon.  Bags will sell for $3 each, plus tax.

Mo-gro Pro, a clean green compost, is made from tree trimmings, brush, leaves, grass, paper products and food scraps provided by the City’s green waste program.  Mo-gro Magic, a co-compost, is made from tree trimmings and biosolids.  Both products help retain soil moisture and provide valuable nutrients to plants.  Compost can be used in flowerbeds, vegetable gardens, tree plantings, new lawns or as a top dressing on an older more established lawn.

Compost is available for purchase, in bags and bulk, year-round at the City of Modesto Compost Facility, 7001 Jennings Road.
