Officers did a security check of the abandoned home and discovered that a John Oliver, 39-years-old, and his girlfriend Angelica Madrigal, 40-years-old, along with a 3-year-old child were living inside. The conditions of the home were “horrid and very unsafe,” said Officer John Wohler. “There were uncapped needles all around the home. There was also no water, garbage or sewage service and no electricity to the property. There was human waste all over the residence and it appears they lit a fire in a fireplace that was unsafe and could have caused a structure fire,” added Wohler.
Madrigal and Oliver were arrested and booked for child endangerment and illegal lodging. The three-year-old was taken into protective custody and custody turned over to CPS. The home was boarded up and made safe as police concluded the investigation.
