Body Recovered in Rural Modesto

Modesto, CA - The investigation of a missing Modesto man has led to the discovery of a body at a rural Modesto home.


On December 25, 2013, Modesto Police began investigating the disappearance of a 56-year-old Modesto man.  As the investigation progressed, detectives were lead to the 1800 Block of Broyles. 


Late this morning, detectives recovered the body of a male adult, believed to be that of the missing man.  The body was found buried in a shallow grave.  Positive identification is pending.


Homicide Detectives identified a suspect in the case.  Mario Beltran, 28-years-old of Modesto, was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail for murder.


Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators continue to collect evidence from the scene and follow-up on investigative leads.  Because this is now an active homicide investigation, homicide detectives will not be disclosing specific information regarding this case, in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
