Modesto, CA - In March 2014, The Modesto Police Department will be offering a Community Police Academy. The Academy will begin on March 5, 2014 and finish on April 16, 2014. (Class’s meet on Wednesdays)


Applications will be accepted until class is full or February 19, 2014. Applications can be picked up at the Police Department.


The Community Police Academy is a seven week long class, one night a week, for three hours each of those nights. The classes are held at the Modesto Police Department. No fee is charged to attend. Topics to be covered will include:


Role of American Police, Laws of Arrest, Spirit of Law/Letter of Law, Gang Awareness, Drug Awareness, Rules of Evidence, Media/Information Officer, Volunteers, Traffic Enforcement, Search and Seizure.
