Modesto CA: Fatal bicycle incident occurs on Yosemite Boulevard and North McClure Road.
On April 5th 2014 at around 7:10 AM a bicyclist requested medical assistance from a clerk working at the Shell Gas station located at 3401 Yosemite Boulevard. The bicyclist was transported to Doctors Medical Center and later succumbed to his injuries.
The Modesto Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in determining the circumstances surrounding the bicyclist’s death. At this time, no criminal act or vehicle code violation has been determined to be the cause of death of this bicyclist. The deceased bicyclist has been identified as Randall Cole, a 56 year old Modesto resident.
Anyone with information about this bicyclist or who may have witnessed anything unusual in this area during this time frame is encouraged to contact Traffic Officer Reeves at 209-652-3296.
As a standard procedure, a comprehensive investigation has begun and is in the early stages of the process. Witness statements and physical evidence at the scene will be evaluated before any collision factor or cause of death can be determined.
