CHASE BANK ROBBED

Modesto, CA – A bank in Modesto’s Century Center was robbed at about noon today.  Police have released a photograph of the robber and need the public’s help to identify him.

At about noon police were dispatched to the Chase Bank at 2401 Oakdale Road to investigate a robbery that had just occurred.  Detectives believe suspect approached the bank teller, indicated he had a gun, and made demands for money.  The robber fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male adult in his late thirties to early forties, 5'8"-5'10", 150-170 lbs, brown hair in a 5-inch long ponytail, unkempt hair, facial hair with a mustache (possibly salt/pepper), and very yellow and jagged teeth.  He was further described as having a dirty appearance and was wearing a Raiders jacket, green t-shirt with a white circular logo on front, dirty blue jeans, and tennis shoes.  He was last seen fleeing the bank on foot southbound on Oakdale Road.   The suspect was not located after a lengthy search of the area.

Detectives have released several digital surveillance photographs of the suspect at the time of the robbery.  Detectives ask anyone who may recognize the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.  Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.  Tipsters can also text information to Crime Stoppers by sending a text message to 274637.
