The Modesto Police Department’s first annual Multi-agency Halloween Safety Fair will be held on Saturday, October 17th in the parking lot of the Save Mart at
The Modesto Police Department will have numerous personnel present as well as the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) armored vehicle, a marked patrol car, and a police K9 unit. The Modesto Fire Department will have a fire engine and the fire safety trailer on display to teach children about the dangers of fire and smoke. It is also anticipated that American Medical Response will have an ambulance on display.
In addition to the many things to see, McGruff the Crime Dog will be on hand to visit with the children and hand out treat bags. This family event will also feature child identification and DNA kits, free bicycle helmets, and Halloween safety kits for the parents to ensure that their children remain safe (while supplies last). Specially trained technicians will be present to help with proper child safety seat installation. The American Red Cross will also be participating in this event.
All of the agencies involved hope that this event will allow children to see public safety personnel and their equipment, while promoting safety in a fun family oriented forum.
Please refer to the attached flyer for further details about this event.
