Modesto Police Department News Release

Modesto, CA - The man found shot to death Saturday morning has been identified.  Detectives continue to follow up on leads in this case.

On 10-10-09, at approximately 9:04 AM, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Sutter Ave after a citizen reported hearing the sound of gunshots fired in the area.  Officers located one deceased gunshot victim, later identified as 26-year-old Los Angeles resident Ramon Rivera Villanueva, inside a residence.

The investigation is on-going. No arrests have been made and detectives continue to follow-up on leads in this case.  Detectives do not believe this is a gang-related homicide.
