Modesto City Schools Employee Arrested for Having Sexual Relationship with Underage Student


Modesto, CA – Modesto City Schools Employee Arrested for Having Sexual Relationship with Underage Student

 

On Sunday, December 22, 2013 the Modesto Police Department received a report stating Jeremy Wood, 28 years, a Modesto City Schools employee was involved in a sexual relationship with a 17 year old female student. The relationship was discovered after text messages between Jeremy and the student were located on his phone. The phone was turned over to police and the victim was interviewed.   

 

Jeremy was employed as a substitute paraprofessional at Beyer High School. He befriended the victim at the school when she was 16 years old. On December 24, 2013, an arrest warrant was issued for statutory rape. Detectives assigned to the Special Victims Unit immediately set out to look for Jeremy and located him near his residence. Jeremy was arrested and later booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.
