The City of Modesto is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Planning Commission. Upon recommendation by the Appointments Committee, selected applicants will be appointed by the City Council to a four-year term. The Planning Commission is responsible for formulating recommendations regarding the orderly development of the community as it relates to zoning and land use. This commission reviews and recommends amendments to the Modesto General Plan, Zoning and Modesto Municipal Codes, the Capital Improvement Program, and subdivisions and neighborhood development plans.

Applicants must be registered to vote in the City of Modesto. Applicants for this committee are required to complete a financial disclosure statement. Applications will be accepted through June 21, 2014 and are maintained for at least one year.
