Modesto CA: Fatal two vehicle collision investigated at McHenry Avenue and Standiford Avenue.
On Thursday June 5th, 2014 at approximately 12:49 AM a four door sedan vehicle was traveling southbound on McHenry Avenue approaching the intersection of Sylvan Avenue. This vehicle collided with a pickup truck traveling westbound on Sylvan Ave that was also in the intersection. The truck rolled over and came to rest on its roof. The sedan collided with several signal and light poles located on the southwest side of the intersection.
The sole female occupant of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The two male occupants in the truck were able crawl out of the truck and sustained only complaint of pain injuries.
The sedan involved in the collision was a 2000 Ford Taurus. The truck was a 2005 four door Chevrolet Silverado. The name of the deceased female driver is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified. The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as Tyler Johnson who is an 18 year old Modesto Resident.
At this time, there are no indicators that alcoholic beverage or drug intoxication played a role in the collision.
No fault or cause to this collision has been determined yet. As a standard procedure, a comprehensive collision investigation has begun and is in the early stages of the process. Witness statements and physical evidence at the scene will be evaluated before any collision factor or cause will be determined.
