The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department’s Maddux Youth Center is located at 615 Sierra Drive and offers free community services for youths, teens, adults, and seniors. Members enjoy a variety of sports, games, educational programs, cultural enrichment activities, special events, and health and fitness classes. The facility is open Monday-Thursday 12:30pm-6:30pm, Friday 12:30pm-5:00pm and Saturdays 11:00am-3:00pm
Programs include daily drop-in activities, structured classes and special projects. Membership is free and all members receive a photo ID card which provides access to the facility programs. Both drop-in basketball and tournament basketball games are presented. Maddux Youth Center’s fitness gym features both cardio machines and weights for those that wish to increase their fitness level. The computer lab provides opportunities for participants to job search, create resumes, and provide after-school classes for youth and teens. Maddux Youth Center labs are available to conduct computer skill classes for adults and seniors, as well. Additional Maddux Youth Center programs include: after-school Homework Time program, M.A.D. Lounge (music, art & dance) program, Ballet Folklorico Xochippili, Folklorico Group Mixtlan Mexican Dance classes, cardio fitness workout classes and P.A.L. Boxing.
