The 4th Annual Modesto Spirit of Giving Jingle Bell 5k Run and Walk is almost here: Saturday December 14! All proceeds will benefit the Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Scholarship Program for low-income children, seniors, and disabled adults; as well as the Howard Training Center, a program serving the needs of the community by changing and enhancing the lives of adults with disabilities. Bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the Howard Training Center's "Meals On Wheels" program and be entered in a raffle for great prizes!
Teen and adult participants race through downtown, Modesto Junior College, and the historic Graceada Park neighborhoods on this paved route, with the race beginning at 8:00am at 11th and M Streets.
Pick up your race bibs early to avoid that adrenaline-draining stress. December 13th, from noon to 6pm, race participants can visit On the Run (in McHenry Village) to get their race bibs. If racers miss the early bird opportunity, bibs can be picked up the day of the race beginning at 6:30am at the ShadowChase office on 11th and M St. in downtown Modesto.
Cash awards will be given to the first 3 overall male and female runners and the first 2 male and female runners in the Master's Division. Medals will be presented to 5 year age group winners as well.
There will also be a children’s ¼-Mile Fun Run for FREE at 9:15am. Designed for little ones! Children 10 and under can chase the Grinch out of Modesto in this non-competitive run, receiving a medal and a photo with the big guy at the finish! All children participating in the Fun Run will receive a medal!
