The King-Kennedy Memorial Center Board of Directors and the City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department will co-sponsor the 45th Annual Juneteenth Community Celebration on Friday, June 20th and Saturday June 21st at King-Kennedy Memorial Center and Mellis Park, located at 601 S. Martin Luther King Drive, Modesto. The Juneteenth Celebration will celebrate more than 100 years of reconciliation and healing through service to our community.
The event will include Friday’s evening showcase of talent from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday’s program will begin with the annual “Celebration of Dads” recognition ceremony from 10:30 a.m. - noon; recognizing fathers of the year. The afternoon program begins at noon and will include a presentation of dynamic guest speakers, inspirational gospel singers, popular band music entertainment, cultural performances, educational exhibits, youth contests, a Black Business Expo, community resource information booths and children’s activities including bounce houses.
