The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department’s Maddux Youth Center is located at 615 Sierra Drive and offers free community services for youths, teens, adults, and seniors. Members enjoy a variety of sports, games, educational programs, cultural enrichment activities, special events, and health and fitness classes. The facility is open Monday-Thursday 12:30pm-6:30pm, Friday 12:30pm-5:00pm and Saturdays 11:00am-3:00pm. The programs offer daily drop-in activities, structured classes and special projects. Membership is free and all members receive a photo ID card which provides access to the facility programs.
Maddux Youth Center offers both drop-in basketball and tournament basketball games and the fitness gym features both cardio machines and weights for those that wish to increase their fitness level.
The Maddux Youth Center computer lab provides opportunities for participants to job search, create resumes, and hosts educational classes for youth and teens. Computer skills classes for adults and seniors are also offered.
Additional Maddux Youth Center programs include: dance classes, nutrition program classes, M.A.D. Lounge (music, art & dance) program, Ballet Folklorico Xochippili, Folklorico Group Mixtlan Mexican Dance classes, cardio fitness workout classes, S.C.O.E. Work-4-Success job preparation program, Youth Leadership Program, Girl’s & Boy’s Circle Rights of Passage Empowerment classes, soccer and football sports activities and P.A.L. Boxing program and more.
