Traffic Impact Report February 14, 2014


PROJECT: Coffee Road Crack Sealing

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected for end of February.

IMPACT: Coffee Road from Scenic Drive to Orangeburg Avenue. Traffic will be reduced to one

lane. Motorists are requested to travel slowly through the work zone. Drivers should

expect delays and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: CVIN Fiber Optic Underground Placement Project

STATUS: Work is in progress in multiple areas. Project completion is expected

for end of April 2014.

IMPACT: AREA 1: 10th Street from J Street to H Street and M Street from Needham Avenue

to 11th Street.

AREA 2: Coffee Road from Orangeburg Avenue to Celeste Road.

AREA 3: Briggsmore/Carpenter Road Overcrossing from Orangeburg/Sisk Road

intersection to Blue Gum Avenue.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane traffic and shoulder work. Work will be Monday

through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and night work beginning at 7:00 p.m. to 5:00

a.m. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution and pay attention to signage.

Drivers should expect to use alternate routes when possible to avoid delays.

PROJECT: Strengthen & Replace Water System in the alley between El Vista/Cloverdale

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected for March 2014

IMPACT: Work will be in the alley between Miller Avenue and Roble Avenue. Traffic impact

should be minimal. Motorists are requested to travel slowly through the work zone

and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: Street Closure for Tree Trimming

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected for end of March 2014.

IMPACT: AREA 1: Sunrise Avenue from Tokay Avenue to Norwegian Avenue.

AREA 2: Tokay Avenue from McHenry Avenue to Sunrise Avenue.

AREA 3: Norwegian Avenue from McHenry Avenue to Sunrise Avenue.

AREA 4: Bowen Avenue from McHenry Avenue to the Virginia Corridor Trailway

AREA 5: Sunrise Avenue from Briggsmore Avenue South to Orangeburg Avenue

Detours will be in place for alternate routes. Motorists are requested to drive slowly

through detour areas and use alternate routes when possible.

PROJECT: Briggsmore Avenue / Sunrise Avenue Water Main

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected for February 21, 2014.

IMPACT: Sunrise Avenue from Briggsmore Avenue to Granger Avenue will be reduced to one

lane with possibility of short term closures with detours. Motorists are requested to

travel slowly through the work zone. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate

routes when possible.

PROJECT: Virginia Corridor Phase 6

STATUS: Work is in progress. Project completion is expected by end of June 2014.

IMPACT: Construction has begun with the installation of a temporary fence installed along the

Corridor. The travel ways down the Corridor will be permanently blocked. There will

be minor traffic control measure implemented on Bowen Avenue, Leveland Lane,

West Rumble Road and Woodrow Avenue. Expect periodic lane closures using

cones, construction signs and road closures. All work will be on going until
