Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2

Welcome

Thank you for visiting the City of Modesto’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2’s (NSP2) transparency webpage. The NSP2 program is part of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 a stimulus package designed to stabilize neighborhoods in economic and foreclosure impacted cities such as Modesto. In 2008 the Modesto community faced unemployment rates near 20% and a foreclosure rate that was one of the highest in the nation. The Federal government made the ARRA monies to communities most impacted by the economic downturn. The City of Modesto applied for and received $25 million to be distributed through the Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) to help create jobs and stabilize declining property values in neighborhoods.

No further updates will be posted to the NSP2 webpages at this time as we are awaiting the results of the HUD Office of the Inspector General Audit.
