1. How can I apply for a job with the City of Modesto?
Each recruitment is open for a certain filing period during which employment applications are accepted. A separate City of Modesto employment application is required for each job. Employment applications may be submitted online at http://agency.governmentjobs.com/modesto/default.cfm, dropped off at the Personnel Department, Suite 2200, 1010 Tenth Street, Modesto, or may be mailed to the Personnel Department, P. O. Box 642, Modesto, CA 95353. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the final filing date. Postmarks are not accepted.

3. Can I fill out one application for several jobs?

4. What happens after I apply for a job?
Applications are screened and all candidates are notified via email or US mail of the status of their application. For those who are invited to continue in the testing process, the notification will outline the next step, which may include a written exam, performance test, or oral board, etc.

5. After applying for a job, how long does it take to get scheduled for an interview?
Notices are emailed or mailed (based on applicant preference) to applicants within two to three weeks of the final filing date.

6. How do I update my contact information if I move after applying for a job?
If you change your name, phone number or address, you must update your online applicant profile at http://agency.governmentjobs.com/modesto/default.cfm or contact the Personnel Department at (209) 577-5402 to provide us with your updated information.

7. Can I receive an automatic notification of job openings?
