Julie Hannon - Biography
Julie Hannon was appointed Acting Director for the Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department in January
2008. Julie joined the City of Modesto as Deputy Director for the department in 1998 after working for the
Redwood City Recreation and Community Services Department for nine years. Julie has over 29 years of recreation
experience with almost 20 of those years in administration roles. In addition to Modesto and Redwood City,
Julie previously worked for Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation as well as for three other recreation departments
and/or districts in Wyoming and Colorado.
Julie received her Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Park Administration with a minor in Journalism from
Western Illinois University. Julie and her family reside in Modesto.
