Earth Day in the Park – Earth Day in the Park is one of Modesto’s largest annual events, with upwards of 15,000 in attendance, weather permitting. The event takes place in Graceada Park and offers approximately 90 vendor booths with a variety of earth friendly products, services, and resources as well as free entertainment and family fun. Bike to Work Day – Bicyclists commute to downtown Modesto from various locations throughout the city. A free continental breakfast is provided for all bicycle commuters. Family Cycling Festival & Criterium – Come to downtown Modesto for free children’s bike helmets, BMX stunt shows, obstacle courses and races, bounce houses, rock climbing wall, face painting and more. For more information, please call (209) 571-5193.

Night at the Bowl- The City of Modesto's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department and MoBand have teamed up to host "A Night at the Bowl" on Thursday, May 29, 2014. The event will feature tastings from area wineries, restaurants and premium beers accompanied by live music by area musicians at Graceada Park from 5:30-9 p.m. For more information, click here.

Highland Games – The Highland Games celebrate the pageantry and customs of the past which still live in the hearts of many today. All Gaelic cultures, Scottish, Irish and Welsh, are represented at Tuolumne River Regional Park. For more information, click here.

Juneteenth – Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Mo Band – The Modesto Band of Stanislaus County is one of the oldest, continuously performing bands in the United States. This wonderful band, currently composed of approximately 130 volunteer musicians, performs free concerts each summer on six consecutive Thursday evenings beginning in mid-June at the Mancini Bowl in Graceada Park. Veterans Parade – The Veterans Day Parade in downtown Modesto is organized by local vets to honor fellow veterans’ service to this country. The community supports this event with marching bands, classic cars and other community groups participating in the parade. Annual Dickens Faire Festival – A memorable community event held the first Saturday in December at the McHenry Mansion on the corner of 15th and I Streets as part of the Celebration of Lights. Activities include house tours with docents dressed in fashion of the period and free children's activities at the McHenry Museum just down the street from the mansion. Holiday Parade – The annual Celebration of Lights Holiday Parade and Downtown Extravaganza occurs the first Saturday of December in downtown Modesto. Festivities include the Celebration of Lights Parade, traditional Dickens Faire and Farmer’s Market. For more information, click here.
