The dedicated employees that make up this department are what allow us to accomplish this mission.

Through the eight divisions of the department, including solid waste services, we provide a service delivery system that reflects the City Council's strategic plan. It is well organized and implemented and meets and exceeds the open space and recreation needs and priorities of neighborhoods and the community. Programs and services are continually evaluated and modified to address the changing needs and desires of Modesto's residents and visitors.
