The division strives to create and market a
positive image of services offered to neighborhoods and the community
and to seek resources through grants and collaborations/partnerships
with community non-profit organizations, public agencies and businesses
for the development of programs, services and other recreation and
leisure opportunities.
The division is responsible for administering the Federal
Community Development Block Grant (CBDG), the HOME Investment
Partnership Program and the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG).
Programs administered by the Division include the Housing
Rehabilitation and Neighborhood Revitalization Program, the Down
Payment Assistance Program, the CBDG Public Services Program and
the Affordable Housing Development Program.
This division is also responsible for code enforcement and
neighborhood preservation, including the abatement of junk, trash
and nuisances of various kinds. Staff also provides an educational
component to provide information on ordinances that impact the
aesthetics of the community.
