Compost Classes
The City of Modesto partners with MJC Community Education to offer Backyard
Composting Classes to local residents. The classes are free for all Modesto*
residents. The fee for non-residents is $35. Two classes are offered each spring and
fall. Please contact MJC at (209) 575-6063 for dates, times and registration; space is
limited. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for $5 off a backyard
compost bin purchased through the City of Modesto.

The Earth Machine backyard compost bins are available for purchase from the City of Modesto for $39 plus tax.
Bins may be purchased at the Utility Billing Office, 1010 10th Street, 2nd Floor, Suite 2100.
Lobby hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
*City residents must live in zip codes 95350-95358.
