You Can Make a Difference!

We do better when we do things together! The volunteer opportunities in the City of Modesto are endless. Whether you want to help out by participating in the three "Takin' It To The Streets" citywide cleanup events or the ongoing volunteering opportunities (see below), you can partner with the City and together we can do great things!  Click here for more information.

To become a City of Modesto volunteer, a Volunteer Application and Waiver must be turned in to Stephanie Smith, Volunteer Coordinator with the City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department.  Print the appropriate forms, complete all of the information and provide your signature where necessary.

Spirit of Giving

Celebration of Lights Miracle on 10th Street

Downtown Modesto's Annual Christmas Parade is scheduled for December 5, 2015. In addition to the parade, the day begins with a breakfast with Santa at the Senior Citizens Center and ends with a community tree lighting. Come help Modesto usher in the holiday season!

Spirit of Giving

6th Annual Spirit of Giving 5K Walk/Run

On Saturday December 12th, 2015 Modesto will host it's 6th annual Spirit of Giving Jingle Bell 5K Run & Walk to benefit local charities: including the Youth Recreation Programs that provide recreation opportunities for underserved children, seniors, and persons with disabilities. This is a great way to help benefit your community! In addition to the marathon, there will be a Children's 1/4-mile Fun Run, an Awards Ceremony, vendor booths, and demonstrations.

Partners In Paint

Partners in Paint is a community education program developed by Councilmember Dave Lopez as a graffiti tool for the City of Modesto. The program is dedicated to raising awareness about the harmful effects of graffiti vandalism on communities.
