Bike Events

May is National Cycling Month, for cycling enthusiasts and anyone who is a partaker of family fun, Cycling Month is a great thing to celebrate and beyond that, it’s opportunity for those of us who try to live a healthy lifestyle to get out and make the most of the beautiful spring weather. All sorts of free cycling events in our city get rolling mid-May, all of it kicking off with the Amgen Tour of California pit stop in Modesto.

Wednesday, May 18, 2016 | Expo 3PM-7PM

Enjoy an all access pass to the Pit Stop (aka Modesto Centre Plaza parking lot). We are planning a great kickoff party, the Tour of California: Modesto Cycling Expo, when pit crews set up their bike wash stations and busy themselves sprucing up and tuning up road weary bicycles, offering cycling demos and more. Live broadcast radio, food trucks, giveaways and more will make this an event not to be missed. Meet & Greet with Professional Cyclists Jens Voigt and “Fast Freddie” Rodriguez. Publicity opportunities for sponsors range from event marketing, advertising on the Amgen Tour Tracker App, to 30 second television commercials airing on NBC sports, with a viewing audience of 2 million people.

The Modesto area is a great place to enjoy bicycling as both a recreational activity, and as an alternative means of transportation to commute to work.

We have various events that occur in May to promote bicycle safety, bicycle commuting, and demonstrate how bicycling can become a viable form of transportation in decreasing traffic and parking congestion, and help improve air quality.
