About the Board

The Measure H Oversight Board is comprised of nine Modesto citizens that represent a cross-section of the community. The Measure H Oversight Board is established to review all revenues and expenditures of funds from the sales tax revenue generated from the passage of Measure H. The Measure H Oversight Board plays a critical role in ensuring that the voter approved funds are being spent appropriately by the City of Modesto.

Regular Meetings

Responsibilities

  1. Review all revenues and expenditures of funds generated from the sales tax authorized by the voter approved Measure H.
  2. Review annual audit reports related to the Measure H tax measure as provided.
  3. Make at least one (1) annual report to the City Council at a public meeting summarizing the Measure H Oversight Board’s findings.

Membership Requirements

In order to be considered as a member of the Measure H Oversight Board, applicants must:

  1. Be a citizen of Modesto
  2. Complete the online application for Boards, Commissions & Committees

The board is mandated to be comprised of at least one citizen from each city council district and 3 at large residents from anywhere within the city limits for a total of nine members. Though not required, strong preference will be given to applicants that represent groups such as schools, local trade associations, the chamber of commerce, nonprofit organizations, senior citizen groups, non-partisan political organizations, tax-payer associations, and neighborhood organizations.

Applications received will stay on file for the remainder of the calendar year if an Oversight Board member seat becomes available.
