AB 341 and 1826 Information

Both Assembly Bills 341 and 1826 are designed to help meet California’s recycling goal of 75% by the year 2020 and we need your help to make it happen and …it’s the law!

AB 341 (2011) requires all businesses that produce 4 or more cubic yards of waste per week, and multi-family residences with 5 or more dwellings (regardless of the amount of waste produced), to recycle, reuse and/or divert their waste from disposal. More information about this law is available from CalRecycle. Fill out and return the mandatory Commercial Recycling compliance form.

AB 1826 (2014) now requires all businesses, including multi-family residences with 5 or more dwellings, that produce 4 or more cubic yards of waste per week, to recycle their organic waste (defined as food waste, landscape and pruning waste, nonhazardous wood waste, and food- soiled paper/cardboard). Please note that multi-family residences are not required to divert food and food-soiled paper waste. More information about this law is available from CalRecycle Organics.  Fill out and return the mandatory compliance form.
