Holiday Parade

Celebration of Lights "Tootle" Parade

Saturday, December 5, 2020

Celebration of Lights LogoJoin us for the biggest community event of the year, our annual holiday parade in downtown Modesto. Parade starts at 5:30 p.m., the entrance is on I and 17th Streets. Parade entry applications will be accepted until capacity is reached or November 20, 2020. Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, Crystal Creamery.

You may be asking yourself, “what is a Tootle??” A Tootle is “to go or travel in a leisurely way”. But this year, the floats will not be the ones traveling, it will be the spectators. Better known as a “reverse” parade,
this year our Celebration of Lights will be celebrated by having decorated entries parked as spectators drive by admiring the spectacular light displays and decorations.

Traffic and parking in downtown Modesto will be heavily impacted for the parade.  Please watch for "No Parking" Signs and plan extra time to get to your destination.  Road closures will begin as early as 1:00 PM and will remain closed until approximately 9:00 PM.

Downtown Tree Lighting & Rockin' Holidays

Cruise the parade route to view the traditional Rockin' Holiday tree lighting in Tenth Street Plaza, 1010 Tenth Street, Modesto.
