EAH HOUSING BREAKS GROUND ON ARCHWAY COMMONS IIWe are pleased to announce the groundbreaking ceremony on the Archway Commons II Project that took place on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Archway Commons has been a collaborative effort between the City of Modesto and EAH Inc. since 2009, and we are pleased to be adding a phase II to Archway Commons. This project aligns with the City’s five-year Strategic Plan to implement a comprehensive housing strategy and leverage alternative revenue sources – which we’ve done with Archway Commons II! We are proud to have contributed $1.5 million to the Archway Commons II project, and from that, we were able to secure an additional $34 million from state, private and local funding sources in the form of government grants, loans, and private and non-profit funds. To create an economically healthy, sustainable and thriving community, a city must have housing that is affordable for everyone. We are thrilled to see 74 new apartment homes being built right here. Not only will this project increase the City’s much-needed affordable housing supply, the City also received $10 million to assist with transportation related infrastructure improvements along 9th Street to give residents the ability to walk, bike, or take public transportation along a new beautifully landscaped gateway to downtown Modesto.
