We look forward to seeing you Thursday, May 23, 2024 at the Modesto Centre Plaza (Arbor Theatre) located at 1000 L Street, Modesto, CA. Continental breakfast at 7:30 AM with the summit meeting beginning at 8 AM through 10 AM.
The City of Modesto is beginning preparation of an Economic Development Strategic Plan and your organization's input is critical to the success of the planning process. The Plan will provide a comprehensive blueprint for generating quality economic growth in Modesto. It will also consider closely-related issues such as infrastructure and workforce development.
You are part of a select group of stakeholders who are being invited to participate in our initial stakeholder summit to help shape the direction of the Plan. Your organization’s input is vitally important to the effectiveness of this effort.
After the initial stakeholder summit, we will also be hosting a community summit (open to all interested members of the public) as well as smaller focused groups organized around specific themes (e.g., real estate development, workforce development, etc.) All meetings will be facilitated by the City's strategic planning consultants (The Natelson Dale Group, Inc.) At the May 23 summit meeting, participating stakeholders will help identify:
- Potential opportunities/options for future economic growth.
- Existing constraints that need to be addressed to facilitate future strengthening of the local economy.
- Partner organizations (public and private) that can support implementation of the Plan.
- Other high-priority issues that the Plan should address.
- Developing specific strategies to address the identified opportunities and constraints.

The Stakeholder Briefing Report and Databook provides a preliminary summary of some of the data resources our consultant team has collected for this process. If your time permits, you may find it helpful to review the report (especially the Executive Summary, pages 2-17) in advance of the May 23 Summit session. Our consultants will also present highlights of this information during the meeting.
