Flower Clock

The Modesto Flower Clock is a working timepiece that serves to not only display the time, but also the beauty of the season through the planting of flowers. Flower Clocks are feature items in several prominent cities, including: Geneva, Switzerland; Alexandria, Egypt; Frankfort, Kentucky; Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada; Tehran, Iran; Edinburgh, Scotland; Christchurch, New Zealand; and Zacatlán, Puebla, Mexico.

The Modesto Flower Clock is 20 feet across and the hands, driven by an electric motor, weigh in at 330 lb. The Clock is replanted two times a year, and each replanting takes up to 480 plants.

The City of Modesto Flower Clock is located on K Street, between 11th and 10th Streets.
