College Internship Program

Law Clerk Opportunties

The City Attorney encourages area law students to submit a letter and resume for appointment to a law clerk position for the summer or academic year. City Attorney law clerks get exposure to a wide variety of projects including litigation, administrative hearings, and drafting of legislation. Most positions are unpaid, however a small stipend may be available, at the discretion of the City Attorney and the availability of funds. Please contact the office for more information.

In an effort to encourage college students to consider a career in law, and in particular, a career as a legal advisor to a public agency the City Attorney has established a volunteer internship program open to all area college students who may be interested in providing assistance to the attorneys and staff in the department. Contact the office for additional details.

Additionally, a pilot partnership program has been initiated with Modesto Junior College. MJC students interested in participating should contact Professor Steven Miller at millers@mjc.edu at the Department of Political Science.
