Mayor Delivers 2013 State of the City Address

UPDATE:

Mayor Garrad Marsh gave his Sophomore State of the City Address at 12:15 p.m. today at the DoubleTree Hotel, located in downtown Modesto.

The Mayor focused his speech on the city’s economic future, public safety needs and our local academic achievement levels.  Mayor Marsh committed to making the hard decisions and asked the community to join him for the challenges we face. Here is a small exert from his closing remarks:

“For our boundaries, it’s time to think up, not out. For our economy, think big, not small. For our streets and parks, think safe, not scared.  It’s time to think about the youth and their future here in Modesto.  It’s time to provide more responders.  It’s time to join me in focusing our goals on a stronger economic future and a better Modesto.”

The event was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and included a luncheon as well as additional public seating.  The Mayor’s State of the City Address will be rebroadcast on the local Government Channel beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Friday February 8.  The following is a rebroadcast schedule:
