Officers Recognized for their Extreme Bravery

Modesto, CA – Last night City Councilmembers expressed their gratitude toward officers who displayed heroic actions during a standoff earlier this year.

On January 5, 2014 officers were called to the 1100 block of Cannes Avenue to investigate a shooting.  Knowing time was of the essence, officers on scene devised a plan to rescue a severely injured female from inside the residence, while the suspect, armed with a gun, was still inside.

The following two Sergeants and eight officers were recognized for their extreme bravery:

Sergeant Reyna, Sergeant Kleiber, Officer Lewellen, Officer Bohanan, Officer Cuellar, Officer Starr, Officer Lamantia, Officer Swearingen, Officer Ulrich and Officer Wesley

A short video of their heroic actions was shown at the City Council meeting and can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbtUMWYEF1Q&feature=youtu.be.
