Road Closures & Traffic

[ARCHIVED] Weekly Traffic Impact Report Week of March 21, 2024

La Loma Phase 3A

Project Status

Expected to be completed by the end of June 2024.

Traffic Impacts

Detours will be in place at:

  • Colfax Avenue and Trask Lane from Roble Avenue to Miller Avenue, including Bellamy Street, Haddon Avenue and Dora Street.

Weather permitting, night work with lane closures:

  • Yosemite Boulevard from Trask Lane and El Vista Street 
  • Trask Lane between Miller Avenue and Yosemite Boulevard

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

La Loma Phase 2C

Project Status

Project is expected to be completed by September 2024.

Traffic Impacts

Traffic control will be in place:

  • Encina Avenue from Santa Barbara Avenue to San Juan Avenue
  • Roble Avenue from Rowland Avenue to Rosina Avenue
  • Haddon Avenue from Rowland Avenue to North Cornejo Avenue
  • Miller Avenue from Covena Avenue to San Juan Avenue
  • Crews will be working in the alleys from Encina Avenue (North Limit) to Miller Avenue (South Limit) from Rowland Avenue (West Limit) to San Juan Avenue (East Limit)

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

River Trunk Realignment Gravity System & Shackelford Pump Station Project

Project Status

Work is in progress.

Traffic Impacts

Construction signs & traffic control is set up and will be adjusted as necessary: 

Following areas are closed to through traffic – Local Resident Access Only:

During work hours 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with all detours in place.

  • Colorado Avenue is closed from South Avenue to Tuolumne Boulevard
  • Western Avenue is closed from Rosedale Avenue to Yosemite Boulevard

Following areas impacted but not closed:

  • Tuolumne Boulevard from Paradise Avenue to Rosedale Avenue on the eastbound lanes will be reduced to one lane  
  • Garden Avenue – between Sutter Avenue & Colorado Avenue
  • Colorado Avenue – between Garden Avenue & Avalon Avenue
  • Roselawn Avenue – Between Pelton Avenue & Colorado Avenue
  • Colorado Avenue - from Garden Avenue to Snead Drive
  • Colorado Avenue from Garden Avenue to Faustina Avenue
  • Colorado Avenue from Garden Avenue to Figaro Avenue
  • Colorado Avenue from Figaro Avenue to Lema Avenue
  • Colorado Avenue from Lema Avenue to Rouse Avenue

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

Sutter Trunk Rehabilitation Phase 2

Project Status

Project is expected to be completed by the end of April 2024.

Traffic Impacts

Construction signs and traffic control is set up:

  • Paradise Road will be closed from 1st Street to Sutter Avenue for approximately one week.
  • Jefferson Street closed from Laurel Avenue to Elm Avenue

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

Paradise Road Area Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Improvements

Project Status

Expected to be completed by March 2025.

Traffic Impacts

Traffic control will be in place:

  • Paradise Road: Sheridan Street to 1st Street
  • South Jefferson Street: Paradise Road to Vine Street
  • 1st Street: Vine Street to Sierra Drive
  • G Street: Sierra Drive to 2nd Street

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

9th Street Sewer Work

Project Status

Begins Monday March 25th, 2024 expected completion by April 5th, 2024.  
Work hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily Monday through Friday.

Traffic Impacts

Initial set up and teardown will have flaggers. Continuous traffic control will be in place: 

  • 9th Street inside southbound lane closure starting from Campus Way for approximately 1200 ft. south.

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and adhere to traffic control devices.
