Modesto, CA, October 14, 2024 - The City of Modesto will be holding community engagement sessions to discuss the upcoming Tuolumne Regional River Park (T.R.R.P.) Master Plan Update. The updated T.R.R.P. Master Plan will serve as the City’s blueprint for future decisions regarding park development on the Tuolumne River Park which include future park design, park amenities, resource conservation, and other topics. We are excited to announce an upcoming round of community workshops. During this phase of engagement, we are asking the community to share their ideas about the future of the Tuolumne River Regional Park and tell us what they want to see. The city will host a workshop in three locations within the communities which reside near the park. Spanish interpretation will be provided at all workshops. Workshop dates and locations are below.

Parks and Recreation Department Announcement

Modesto, CA, May 6, 2024 - The City of Modesto Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the opening of the Tuolumne River Regional Park Neece Drive non-motorized boat launch. This is the first official non-motorized boat launch in the City of Modesto on the Tuolumne River that enhances safety and convenience of entry for our residents into the river for kayakers, paddleboarders, and other non-motorized water activities.

Join us for the Grand Opening

We encourage everyone from our community to join us for the grand opening at the Tuolumne River Regional Park on May 10, 2024, at 10:00 am. The celebration will take place at 734 Neece Drive, Modesto CA.

The City of Modesto is committed to providing recreational opportunities for our community while working towards a sustainable approach to protecting our natural resources. We are thankful for funding for this project from the Harbors and Watercraft Revolving Fund as well as the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways of the Natural Resources Agency and United States Coast Guard.

In addition to the non-motorized boat launch, other park amenities include native oak trees, scenic wildflowers, parking slips for vehicles towing watercraft trailers, accessible parking, paths to the boat launch, overflow parking area for events, informational kiosk, safety solar lighting and much more.

The Tuolumne River Regional Park is a large 500-acre park being developed along the seven-mile stretch of the Tuolumne River traversing through the City of Modesto. The river park is an underutilized natural resource with an abundance of recreational and economic opportunities to create a dynamic regional recreation destination.

The Tuolumne River Regional Park Commission and Citizen Advisory Committee is completing a park master plan update to explore options to develop new hiking trails, river rafting facilities, river beach restoration, picnic areas, mountain biking trails, disc golf courses, adventure climbing/zipline courses and much more! 

Take part in a survey to help us understand how you currently use the park, and what improvements you would to see made to the park.
