2017 Junior Giants Baseball Season underway

Parks, Recreation & Neighborhoods News Posted on June 29, 2017

The City of Modesto Parks, Recreation and Neighborhoods Department is glad to announce our 2017 Junior Giant Baseball League is in full swing. This season we have grown to 40 teams serving over 600 local youth. In addition, our league would not be possible without the 150 parent volunteer assisting as coaches and team parents.  Jr. Giants is a FREE eight week non-competitive baseball program for kids ages 5-13, that focuses on the fundamentals of baseball through the “Junior Giants’ four Bases of Character Development” - Confidence, Integrity, Leadership and Teamwork.  Junior Giants is a partnership between the City of Modesto and the Giants Community Fund. In 2013, the Giants Community Fund and the Good Tidings Foundation built the Jeremy Affleldt Field in Enslen Park where Junior Giants play their games each week.
