On October 1, 2017,  from 12:00am to 5:00pm, the 5K Peace Officer Memorial Run will take place.  This race was developed to honor the police officers from Stanislaus County who were killed in the line of duty.  In honor of these heroes, the start line, finish line, and each mile of the half marathon will be dedicated to one of the 17 fallen officers from Stanislaus County.

The 5K course will be closed for 1 1/2 to 2 hours from 6:30am to 8:30am.  The area of the start and finish line (I Street from 9th Street to 11th Street) will remain closed until 1:00pm.  Most of the half marathon course will re-open between 11:00am and Noon after the runners pass by.

The street closures during this event are as follows:

  • I Street from 9th Street to 16th Street
  • 14th Street from F Street to Needham Avenue
  • Needham Avenue from Magnolia Avenue to College Avenue
  • Morris Avenue from Terminal Avenue to Sycamore Avenue
  • Sycamore Avenue from Morris Avenue to Needham Avenue
  • 15th Street from Needham Avenue to F Street
  • F Street from 14th Street to Burney Street
  • Lane Street from Burney Street to Morton Boulevard
  • Morton Boulevard from Lane Street to Rue De Yoe Street
  • McClure Road from the dead end to Dry Creek Drive
  • Dry Creek Drive from McClure Road to Creekwood Drive
  • Creekwood Drive from Dry Creek Drive to Claus Road
  • Southbound Claus Road will be reduced to one lane from Creekwood Drive to Scenic Drive
  • Eastbound Scenic Drive will be closed from Claus Road to Oakdale Road
  • #3 lane of northbound El Vista Avenue will be closed from Scenic Drive to the south side of the El Vista Avenue Bridge
