[ARCHIVED] America Recycles Day

Since its inception in 1997, the America Recycles Day campaign has grown to include millions of Americans pledging to increase their recycling habits at home and work, and to buy products made with recycled materials.  Residents in every State of the nation participate in America Recycles Day events.  Held annually on November 15th, millions of people become better informed as a result of the national America Recycles Day campaign.

In the “spirit” of this event, the City of Modesto’s Solid Waste Division is partnering with the Stanislaus County Department of Environmental Resources, Go Green with UCP, and the State Theatre in hosting an America Recycles Day event on November 15, 2017 at the Historic State Theatre located at 1307 J Street, Downtown Modesto.  We will be showing the award winning environmental film, "A Plastic Ocean" at 10:30 am and 6:00 pm at no charge.  The film is a moving documentary emphasizing that the over eight million tons of plastic is being dumped into our oceans every year, and we need your help to create a wave of change.
